One of my favorite deserts is this recipe I picked up off an episode of Martha Stewart (pronounced Cla-fu-tay). I like it because you almost always have the ingredients on hand, it’s quick and it’s made in your blender. Great for apartment dwellers who may not have any big kitchen appliances but have whipped up Margarita’s or Daiquiri’s at one time (you know who you are). Simply combine all ingredients in the blender, pour over arranged fruit and bake. Easy, breezy.
Here’s the details:
- Set oven to pre-heat at 350 F
- spray baking dish with PAM (pie plate or casserole dish)
- Peel, half, core and thinly slice 3 ripe pears
- arrange in prepared baking dish
In the blender combine:
- 1/4 cup melted unsalted butter (cooled)
- 3/4 cup milk (I use 2%)
- 3 eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup white sugar
- 1/3 cup AP Flour
Pour batter over pears. I like to sprinkle with nutmeg and vanilla sugar (optional). Bake in the middle of the oven for 35-40 minutes till golden. It’s yummy served warm or chilled. I like mine warm with a wee bit of whipped creme. Oh la la
