In the neighborhood where I grew up everyone knew each other. Kids played outside and a fair number of moms stayed home. I’m posting today in memory of Dale Gemmell. Dale & Barb lived across the lane and his daughter Deb and I have been friends since grade one. That’s a long time. Dale passed away suddenly this past weekend and my heart is broken. I can only say, they treated me like a daughter, took me on adventures I’d otherwise never have had and gave me a soft place to land when things weren’t good at home. Thinking of you Dale, to me, you were like a big old Teddy Bear!
I will take a lesson from this Panda we saw at San Diego Zoo, “enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think”.
Aren’t they awesome!

They are a wonder! I’m amazed at how casual they are. Surrounded by people most days and they seemed to care less. Thanks for popping in way back here too xk

Thank you so much for your kind sentiment. Makes me feel old today with so many memories. Good ones though and that’s comforting.

That’s about the nicest thing I have ever heard. I couldn’t imagine what my life would’ve been like without you across the lane. Your home was such a refuge from the drama. Thanks Deb, Luv You more.
