Like A Big Teddy Bear

In the neighborhood where I grew up everyone knew each other. Kids played outside and a fair number of moms stayed home. I’m posting today in memory of Dale Gemmell. Dale & Barb lived across the lane and his daughter Deb and I have been friends since grade one. That’s a long time. Dale passed away suddenly this past weekend and my heart is broken. I can only say, they treated me like a daughter, took me on adventures I’d otherwise never have had and gave me a soft place to land when things weren’t good at home. Thinking of you Dale, to me,  you were like a big old Teddy Bear!

I will take a lesson from this Panda we saw at San Diego Zoo, “enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think”.

    1. That’s about the nicest thing I have ever heard. I couldn’t imagine what my life would’ve been like without you across the lane. Your home was such a refuge from the drama. Thanks Deb, Luv You more.
