Happy Birthday Canada!
We are flying Mr B’s giant Canadian flag to celebrate our nation’s birthday and to honor his dad who served in the Canadian Forces. Have a safe and joy filled holiday!
Please enjoy this visit to Alberta while Boomdeeadda’s out celebrating Canada Day!
Your flowering pots are looking great!

Awww, you’re so nice to notice them. Thanks Alys. I don’t want to toot my own horn, but I think they’re the best color combo I’ve ever done. They’re a pretty mixed bag, even threw in a few snaps. Bright & cheery for sure.

They look like they came out of a Home and Garden magazine so you should be proud. Next year you can tuck a sunflower in the middle!

I was poking around too, to see if they would grow in your zone. Interestingly the world record for wides flower grew in BC! They grow from seed to flower in 80 days, so you could probably swing it. You could sew them in pots but make a dome to keep them warm in the early days, then remove the cover as they grow.

BC does have a fab climate, we are hoping to retire there…maybe in a little cottage surrounded by sunflowers. HA. I’m going to check Greenland today, I’ll let you know what transpires! Happy gardening, stay cool! Oh, & thanks for the link, I’ve bookmarked

Retire in BC!? I’m all for it. I’ll come up for a visit 😉
I’ve only been to Vancouver, Victoria and Whistler but I have fond memories of all those places. Our mom lived in BC for five years after the war.

Well, I will put that on my calendar….”visit from Alys, July 2022 (Mr B’s hoping only 10 more years), I’m already looking forward to it. We love Victoria and have visited friends there a few times, I LOVE the ocean. There and anywhere. Just to be by the water, it’s such a great life. Where in BC did your mom live?

She lived on the island Victoria! Cool, eh? My husband loves to sail and would very much like to live near the water. Maybe we’ll all move there. 2022, eh?
I’m patient.
