Week 4 already, welcome back to Music Mondays. It’s my weekly post where I share an Artist I really like and hopefully you’ll share someone you like too. I’m always looking for someone new to add to my iPod. That’s one thing I find really great about iTunes, is once you buy a song, it’ll recommend someone else you might like.
This week we’re off to Hawaii for some slack-key guitar music. Even though Hawaii seems a long ways from Mexico where it’s said to have originated, most people associated the harmonic music with the islands. My personal favorites include Albert Ka’ai, Dennis Kamakahi and Gabby Pahanui. If you’re new to the genre, check out the movie sound track to George Clooney’s “The Descendants”, it was filmed in Hawaii (the movie was awesome too).
Here’s Bunny and Paul (I love the barking dog in the yard, ha). Aloha
One of my favorites…along with 71 million others!

Yah yah, I have that on my Ipod. I first heard it at a movie “50 first dates”. Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. I got all sidetracked at YouTube watching contestants from singing shows that have surprised the judges….kind of heartwarming!

Me too! Susan Boyle gets me every time. I’ve watched that a dozen times in the last few years.

Lovely. Now that I’m listening to this, I remember it from the movie, which I also really enjoyed. Great story, beautiful scenery and Clooney.
I’ve become a fan of Pandora. By choosing an artist you like, they play many of their songs, mixed in with other artists of a similar ilk. Have you tried it? I guess it is similar to the ipod suggestions, but less work to find things.

Oh, they are blocking Canadians due to licensing agreements. So I can’t check it out. drats. It’s probably the CRTC (Canadian Radio Television Commission)…they’re an insane group of ‘has beens’ who tell canadians what they should watch and listen to.

Oh, no they are blocking Pandora. But you know what, even the odd one on YouTube we don’t see. It’s crazy.
