What Can I Say? I’m Scrappy

If you do any scrapbooking,  you know you always have a bunch of pieces of ‘this and that’ left over from your many projects. I don’t know why, but I just hate to pitch anything. With the darkness of an Alberta winter comes the bright light of the craft room. There are entire magezines dedicated to Card Making but usually I just wing it. Here’s a few I came up with. I decided to gift them in a clear canister I bought at Michael’s.

It’s fun to think of a new ways to use the same papers and tidbits, so I usually make several in a series.

.

Putting it all together as a gift is easy breezy.  I added charms and ribbon to the canister and decorated a dollar store gift bag. Don’t forget to use your stamps on the envelope too, it’ll be extra special  What can I say?  I’m scrappy.

  1. What a great idea putting them into a canister and gifting them. I love those “paint can” canisters, but could never figure out a way to use one. Delightful.

I’ve taken a few card making classes and come home with lots of enthusiasm, but I lose interest after awhile because if have to count and measure. I like this idea of free-form cards. I’m inspired.

    1. O yah, I had that can around for a bit, but it seemed like a perfect fit. I know what you mean, about the measuring bit. I seem to just wing it more than anything. I get motivated by visiting Treasured Memories in Edmonton. I just love that store. Always lot’s of inspiration there.

      1. Done! We used to have several scrapbooking stores, but one by one they folded. This is the last one standing.

I think large chains like Michael’s coupled with Creative Memories and the internet really make it tough. I’m so glad the Island lives on.
